Our children, Jack and Kathleen's grandchildren, are Generations X and Y. Born from the early-seventies through the mid-eighties, they're busy working and raising their own families.

Jesse was born 05/15/1974 in Washington DC to Anne and Doug Deneen. Her family moved to San Diego before her first birthday. Jesse attended the University of California, Riverside where she earned her Ph.D. in Anthropology with her first husband, Kyle Karnes, in 2009. After a brief stint in the US Army, Jesse served three tours in Afghanistan embedded as a civilian contractor advisor for British troops in Lashkar Gah. After her divorce from Kyle, Jesse completed a course as a Master Brewer at UC Davis where she met Simon Renny-Byfield who was completing a postdoctoral program in genetics. They were married on 02/26/2016. After living in California for most of her life, from the coast to the inland deserts and mountains and from San Diego to Berkeley, Jesse moved with Simon to IA, where they lived and worked for about five years. They moved to Colorado Springs CO in 2021.

Joe was born 4/20/1984 in Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring MD. Joe was raised in Greenbelt MD and graduated from Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt. Joe attended University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill for three years to study Drama. At the start of his senior year he decided instead to go out into the world, traveling to Chicago IL where he found work as a laborer on construction sites. In the evenings, Joe began playing music at Open Mike nights around town and writing his own songs. This eventually led him to his career as a touring singer-songwriter in the Americana tradition. He has toured with Steve Earle, Josh Ritter, Levon Helm, Brandon Flowers of The Killers, James McMurtry, and Joe Ely among others. Joe also has a podcast, The Working Songwriter, where he interviews songwriters about their "inspiration, process, and general ups and downs on making a life in music". He has interviewed Chris Smither, Lucinda Williams, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Josh Ritter, Citizen Cope, Carl Broemel of My Morning Jacket, Ian MacKaye of Fugazi, Joan Osborne, Lee Ann Womack, Brandon Flowers, and Steve Earle among others. Joe resides in Cheverly MD with wife Jamie and their children Rudy, Lucia and Kate.
Katie was born in 1975 on Guam, where her father was stationed. Living briefly in Florida and Maryland, she moved with her family to Reston in the early 1980s. Following graduation from the University of Virginia, where she earned a BS degree in nursing, she began work at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington DC. She returned to school at the University of Maryland to earn certification as a Nurse Practitioner. Currently, she enjoys a career at NIH. She lives in Kensington MD with her husband Denis Mitchell and their children Emma, Will, Hank, and Joe.

Son of George and Pat. Matthew spent the years 1987-2000 impersonating a classical guitarist while playing bass guitar in an original rock band in the state of Maryland. After studying at Peabody and Longy conservatories, he struggles through this world playing the lute with Seven Times Salt and insists on playing bouzouki with Ulster Landing, an Irish traditional group, as well as playing continuo on archlute across New England. Matthew also teaches guitar at Brimmer & May and Belmont Hill Schools and is a contributing writer to the Lute Society of America.
Monica was born 3/6/1987 in Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring MD. Monica was raised in Greenbelt MD and graduated from Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt. She attended beauty school at Graham Webb Academy in Arlington VA and began work soon after as a Hair Stylist at PR at Partners. in Washington DC where she still works. She also has a home hair salon in the basement of her townhome in Greenbelt. Monica occasionally goes to the official residence of the Vice President, the U.S. Naval Observatory, to style the hair of Vice President Kamala Harris when her regular stylist is unavailable. Monica resides in Greenbelt with her long-time partner, Randy Hughes, his daughter Ava, and their daughter Marli.
Terri was born in 1973 on Guam, where her Father was stationed with the US Navy at the time. Living briefly in Florida and southern Maryland, she moved with her family to Reston in the early 1980s. Following graduation from the University of Virginia, where she earned a Master's Degree in Education, she joined the Fairfax County School system where she has taught Literature at Herndon High School for more than 25 years. She lives in Reston with her husband Jamie and her three children: Conor, Kendall, and Cameron
